It’s Sunday, so that means another ROW80 update is due today.
My writing and blogging are going quite well. I’ve posted something every day this week and I’m actually already ahead of the “1 post per day” goal I set myself. It’s the 8th of February, and this is blog post #11. Continue reading ROW80 Update – The Imitation Game
Hello my dear ROWers!
It’s another short update for me, as I have an assignment due tonight and I still have to write about 600 words for it. Which wouldn’t be a problem if it were free-flowing narrative rather than academic writing.
The issue with the missing URLs in my M.A. courses has been resolved and the whole material will get updated and restructured over the next two weeks! And thanks to this, I also got a two-week extension on my Cross-Cultural Communication course.
I’ve been able to keep up with the short stories this week though one turned into a short chapter for a WIP I’m working on.
I didn’t get as much done today as I had hoped – I had to stay longer at work (7 1/2 hours instead of 3 – 4), then I had a very late lunch, got down to studying and now I’ve got about 30 minutes until dinner is ready in which I’m trying to give my fingers a bit of a rest.
It is freezing cold outside, currently -5°C (23°F) and there’s still a draught coming in from somewhere.
I’ve still got loads to do tonight, though I do hope I get my assignment written quickly. For now, I’ll turn on the news until dinner is over.
This is just a quick update for ROW80.
I’ve got a university paper due tomorrow morning, so all my focus has been on my studies these past few days. I have not written another short story for ROW80 as previously planned, as I simply didn’t have enough time to do so.
Once I finish my paper tonight (and had dinner) I will attempt to schedule the next two weeks’ worth of Study Tips, Life Hacks, Character/Setting Inspiration and Story Prompts. This will also include that long-awaited look into my College Binder and the system I use.
Sorry, I can’t spend more time with you right now. I’m just making another cup of Afternoon Tea and then I really need to put my butt back in the chair and fingers on the keyboard and get cracking!
Short and sweet update, as promised. I promise I’ll come round to your blogs and participate more in the likes & comments exchange once the paper’s handed in!
Here’s what everyone else is up to.
Hello my dear fellow ROW80 participants!
The fourth Round of Words in 80 Days for 2014 ended officially on December 26, and while I didn’t stick to all my goals I originally posted, I still count this ROW80 a success!
My writing goals:
- Write a short story each day. Poems also permitted. No matter what word count.
- Alternate often between writing in English and German to build up more German stories (it IS my native language, after all)
- Write in at least 4 genres other than fanfiction (but fanfic is also fine!)
My blogging goals:
- Update Study. Read. Write. five times per week, even if it’s just a picture with writing prompts or inspiration
- Update my travel blog Fernweh & Wanderlust at least 3 times a week, even if it’s just a travel-inspiring picture or recipe
- Start German to English translation of Gap Year journal to include on Fernweh & Wanderlust
So how did I do?
It’s Sunday, so it’s time for another ROW80 update.
After quite a few problems over the last days and weeks, I seem to finally get everything together. I’ve been really productive in the last few days!
Seeing as I only updated late on Thursday, I don’t really have that much to tell you today.
The clocks changed last night, and that’s, usually, when my SAD kicks in properly, so I’ll see how it goes from here on in. I’ve already had my SAD light out for a while, but I find it very hard to concentrate on tasks (and finish them) at this time of year, my energy levels are in the basement and as much as I’d love to write for ROW80 and NaNoWriMo as well as finish several short courses I had signed up for before my university matriculation was decided on and approved, it’s going to be tough. And if push comes to shove, my studies take priority, no matter how much I’d rather be writing.
