Inkitt is having a Fandom Writing Contest, and I entered my NaNoWriMo 2013 story The Bravery of the Soldier, which is Sherlock Fanfiction.
If you’re on Inkitt (or want to be), please give my story a LIKE. Of course you’re also free to read it.
Everybody knows that John Watson had been an army doctor. But just what that entailed not even Sherlock Holmes could imagine, and now John’s demons have come back to haunt him.
It’s a story about a legendary friendship and about how John deals with his military past.
So please, support me and click on that little heart and give my little story a chance in this Writing Contest. It’s the first one I’ve joined.
Hello, my lovelies!
I’m glad you could make time today for a special Weekend Coffee Share!
If we were having coffee today, we’d be at my place. Right away, you’d notice my usual clutter is gone and there’s a somewhat festive air. It’s a beautiful day, so I’d ask you to please make your way to the patio to join the others. Can I offer you a drink? Next to my standard fare of coffee and tea, I have sparkling water, ginger ale , orange-lemongrass lemonade, Fass-Brause apple & herbs, and a whole pitcher of Pimm’s No. 1 cup, which I like to call “Pimm’s on the Lawn,” for those who don’t have to drive and would like something alcoholic.
By now you may wonder what is going on. Today is my birthday. Welcome to my British Summer Birthday Party! I’m glad you could make it, the more the merrier!

It’s 01/01/2015, around lunchtime.
I crawl out of bed (oh please, as if you got up any earlier after those New Year’s festivities), listen to some of BBC’s Cabin Pressure while I get ready and then get a call. A parcel was left for me next door.
Weird. For once, I don’t have any Amazon orders outstanding, and the two posters of Richard III at Trafalgar Studios that I’d been after since September arrived on December 30.
What could it be?

I have been talking about it, hinting at it, imagining it, plotting it and writing it, and I think it’s time I told you a bit more about my NaNoWriMo 2014 project.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, last year’s project The Bravery of the Soldier was Sherlock fanfiction. I got so many positive reviews on Bravery, for both subject matter and writing style, that someone commented that they’d love to see me tackle the background and upbringing of the other main characters. Bravery focused on John Watson’s military career, so I figured the next logical subject would be Sherlock Holmes himself.
