I'm many things. A lover of books, writer, coffee drinker, summer-child, globetrotter, NaNoWriMo participant, fangirl (Nerd? Geek? Call me what you like, I'm proud of my nerdiness) and student.
My creative talent is writing (seriously, I'm rubbish at music and art) and I like to research and study. Brainy is the new sexy, remember? And I like to study, read or write to my heart's content - and whenever I do one of the aforementioned things, a large, steaming cup of coffee is never far away.
Eiscafé Rialto in Solingen, Germany, has been my favourite ice cream parlour for more than a decade.
Recently, owner Vita offered me a new drink from the menu: affogato al caffè, also known as Espresso Affogato. It means: “drowned in coffee” and that’s exactly what it is.
This little beauty arrived in the post today. It’s really happening.
My year as a graduate student on a MA Cross-Cultural Communication at Horizons University in France by distance learning starts now.
It was about this time last year, when I first heard of NaNoWriMo.
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, and the month in question is November. The idea behind it is simple: Write (or try to write) 50,000 words of the first draft of a novel within the 30 days of November.
