Hello, my lovelies!
How are you doing? It’s so nice to see you again for our Weekend Coffee Share. It’s been pretty cold here last week and there might still be black ice on the ground (it was -7°C yesterday) so come on in and I’ll make us a nice hot coffee or tea.
If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you that my week’s activities were mostly planning related. A few days ago I received happy mail in the form of more stamps and coloured ink pads, some aquarell coloured pencils and metallic brush pens. Why haven’t I done this ages ago?
I simply love spending a nice evening planning, doing layouts, using all the colours and stamps. It’s really relaxing, and creative at the same time. Especially when you don’t feel like writing or drawing, just colouring in stamps (my favourite is a set of two girls, one with a coffee cup in her hand) is a nice creative outlet and you organise your week and thoughts at the same time. I’m currently thinking about expanding into stickers as well, including making my own and selling them through LifeInNotes. I sometimes use stamps on address label and round stickers, especially if they’re just icons.
I spent last night, for example, making a new legend of icons and my reading challenge list. The other day I made a list of free courses and a module plan. Can you tell I’m finally getting my focus and energy back when I think about doing even more studying?
If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you that so far I am ahead in my 60 Books Challenge! I’ve read 6 books, started another, and I’m listening to an audiobook in the car. I think I kinda impressed myself with that! Are you doing any reading challenges? Have you made any progress?
If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you that today I handed in an application to renew my membership of Naturfreunde Deutschland (Friends of Nature). I grew up with them from when I was 10, and at 14-16 and again at 18 years old I was youth group leader. I met some of my best friends there, and only really left because I was in England and could not contribute to the groups from there. But several friends have been asking me for months to join back up, and today I did. They’ve still gotta decide to take me (there’ll actually be a vote on it – it’s a tradition) but with about 15 years of active service under my belt (excluding the 3 or so since I left – even though I was still included in group discussions) I’d like to think my chances are pretty good 😉 .
If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you all about my excitement that I got concert tickets! I’ll be seeing none other than David Duchovny live in May!!And yes, that’s Fox Mulder. Next to being an actor and author, he’s also a singer-songwriter and plays guitar. He’s only playing two shows in Germany on his Hell or Highwater Tour, and luckily one of them is in Cologne. I’ll be going with a high school classmate, who’s been a fan of his since the very start of The X-Files and who lives around the corner.
If we were having coffee today, I’d invite you to take another cuppa, though I won’t blame you if you want to check out the other Weekend Coffee Sharers. I’m sure they’d love to see you too!
Thank you for having coffee with me! Same time, next week?
