If We Were Having Coffee… On July 25

Hello my lovelies!

I’m glad you could make time for our Weekend Coffee Share! If we were having coffee today, you’d notice right away that we’re no longer in Germany. And we’re also not alone. If we were having coffee today, I’d invite you to join me and ma choupette, my best friend Veronique, for a coffee in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, England.

Veronique invited me to stay with her in Warrington, and I’ve been here since yesterday afternoon. It’s my first trip back to the UK since last July and I’ve missed it immensely. I’ve also missed my friend.

Today is a Girlie Day for us, with shopping (mainly for books and DVDs and music, though) and you’re welcome to join us.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the last week was stressful. I had to get so much done before this trip. Of course that means that hardly anything got done in the end. I’m just glad for the little bit of distance I’m getting now for two days.

Oh, by the way, I’m typing this on the small USB keyboard that’s attached to my tablet PC. It’s quite temperamental, so I apologize for typos!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’ve missed England a lot. I moved away over two years ago, but it now feels like I never left. If you saw my Midori set-up video I posted a few days ago, and you’d hear me speak now, you wouldn’t believe it’s the same person. When I recorded the video, I hadn’t spoken English in quite a while. Now that I am speaking English nonstop again, I feel like I’m where I belong.Though I noticed that filler words and stuff like “bless you” and so on now come out in German because I had to force myself to speak German for so long. If you’re bilingual, maybe you understand the struggle.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about my interview with Fangirl Quest, which I published yesterday. I always thought that sceneframing is a nice idea. After all, film tourism is a popular choice. Others just stand in the spot, those two hold up an iPad. I 8interviewed them pretty much a year ago and tried sceneframing in London with limited success. However, the magazine this was written for decided not to publish. You have to leave a certain amount of time, before you can take it back and publish elsewhere (you keep the copyright, after all). So the time was up, and I decided to publish it myself. I figured enough fangirls and fanboys read my blog that it’d be appreciated here. If you haven’t read it, go check it out!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my Midori is on its first trip now and I’m excited! It’s the perfect travel companion for me!

If we were having coffee today, I’d have to love and leave you. Shopping with my best friend and a long overdue catch-up over a pint (or two) await!
