The Friday 56 is a blog hop by Freda’s Voice and the rules are simple:
- Turn to the nearest book.
- Open it on page 56.
- Post a sentence or two.
- Join the linky.
- Go crazy on the linky.
“I don’t get it,” Tsukuru said. “If that’s true, then what’s the value of human free will?”
– Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and his Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami
I love his writing. I haven’t read this one yet. I bought it for my daughter who is a big fan, in fact she introduced me to Murakami. I’m waiting to link our amazon accounts so we can share it.

So far I’ve only read 1Q84 by him, which was good, but I think would have been better if it were shorter. I think I need to try some of his earlier works to see how he became the juggernaut he is now.
