Weekly Goals Vol. 11

It’s gonna be another long week for me, but luckily Thursday is a bank holiday! I really need to get a move on with my university assignments and can’t afford any more distractions.

As I was sick yesterday, I still have some things from last week’s list to make up for, plus get ahead on the assignments.

I have also decided to skip the Wednesday ROW80 Update from now on until further notice.

Here are my goals for this week (as some of these are the last modules of the course, next week’s list should be shorter again):

Song of the Day #11: “Wünsch dir was (Unplugged)” – Die Toten Hosen

I’ll let you in on a well-known secret: This is my favourite song. By my favourite band.

Die Toten Hosen are a German punk/rock band and this song translates as “Make a wish”. This is taken from their MTV Unplugged session.

I really like the lyrics. As I know that not all of you speak my native language, I’ll give you a rough translation of Wünsch dir was:

I believe the world will change once more
and good will defeat evil.
That someone leads us on our ways
and takes our fate into their hands.
Yes I believe in eternity
and that everyone will forgive everyone.
All will be equal again in front of each other
Everyone gets what they deserve.

I believe humanity will live in peace
and that there will be true friendship.
And the planet of love will be the Earth
and the sun will revolve around us.

That will be the time
ohhoh
when wishing will help again.
That will be the time
ohhoh
when wishing will help again.
ohhhohohooohooo
when wishing will help again.

One day it will be too good to be true
have faith just one last time.
The here and now will be long gone
like a bad, old dream.
It’ll be a big victory for justice,
for decency and morality.
It’ll be the resurrection of the Holy Ghost
and of Santa Claus.

There’ll be a time
ohhohh
when wishing will help again.
There’ll be a time
ohhohh
when wishing will help again.
ohhhohohooohooo
when wishing will help again.
