If We Were Having Coffee… On March 7

Good morning my lovelies!

It’s still early here, and I couldn’t sleep, so I’m grabbing a coffee to wake up properly and get started on my study modules I have to get through today.

You’re welcome to join me for a coffee at the local coffee shop. I was planning to get it to go, but if you’re there we can grab seats and have a bit of a chat and a Weekend Coffee Share.

If we were having coffee today, I’d have a ridiculously large cup of coffee with milk and sugar. Nothing fancy, just straight up caffeine. And possibly a fruit juice.

One of my oldest friends celebrated her birthday last night, and I may have had too much alcohol (all three glasses of beer of it) and way too little sleep. I’m not hungover. Just zonked.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my back is playing up again. I’ve had back problems since a horse riding accident I had when I was 11 and twisted my spine. It feels weird, like a vertebra is “stuck” and it’s getting painful. I feel like I should be able to “pop it back”, you know, like you do  when your neck is a bit stiff. Just a stretch here and stretch there, something gives and cricks, pops, whatever and all is right again. Except it’s not that easy when it’s your back. Now I need to make an appointment with my chiropractor.

If we were having coffee I’d  tell you that while my studies keep me extremely busy, they are also going extremely well. My university assignments all came back with top marks, so that’s something that keeps me motivated. The online supplement courses are all very interesting and I’m so far able to keep up with all of them, even though my course on Australian Literature took much longer than the three hours suggested study time (the videos alone were about that long, plus extra reading).

If we were having coffee today then this would be it from me. Not much else to tell this week, plus I said I’d only grab a quick coffee. The large cuppa plus a small bottle of Orange-Maracuja-Guarana Juice did help to revitalise me, and the sunlight today is always a plus.

Once I’m home I’ll throw open the windows and sit at my desk which should be bathed in sunlight by noon. It’s a shame it’s still too cold to sit outside and work on the terrace, but I’m sure I can make do for a little while longer, still.

The other Weekend Coffee Sharers can be reached via our lovely host Part Time Monster once she’s up and had coffee (and posted the link to the Linky). In the meantime, you can find us at #WeekendCoffeeShare if you crave another caffeine fix. (I know I will later today!)

Thanks for having coffee with me. Same time, next week?

  1. Thanks for the coffee. I needed an extra large cup today too 🙂 I hope you enjoyed the birthday celebrations – the tired is okay if you’ve worked for it! Have fun at your desk, bathed in sunlight – what a lovely image.

    1. Thank you dear! The birthday celebration was lovely, drinks and a lovely meal with friends. I’m always tired, lol. But fresh air and sunlight do help, as do coffee and multivitamin juices. Have a lovely weekend! x

  2. Thanks for sharing a cuppa. My wife can’t stand the smell of coffee so I generally have to have it at work or on my way to work out. Hope your back gets to behaving better.

  3. Thanks for the coffee. While the size of my cup didn’t change, I must confess I am at the bottom of pot #2 already. Looks like a three pot day!
Good luck with all your studies and I hope your back feels better soon.

  4. Your back problem sounds painful. I had a few spills off a horse as a kid, so scary. I hope your doctor can fix you up soon. Good luck with your studies. Thanks for coffee.

  6. I have significant back, neck, knee pain from a couple of car accidents I have been in so I get the pain thing. I hope the chiropractor is able to help you. Have you tried acupuncture? I tried it a few times and it was wonderful. She was able to relieve the knee, back, and neck pain for up to about six weeks at a time. That was amazing for me because I have no medical insurance so I don’t get to see the doctor for the pain or take medicine for it, except over the counter stuff. But the acupuncture really worked. I would keep going but she moved from where she was and she’ now too far for me to get to. You might want to see if you can find someone in your area and give it a try.
