If we were having coffee today, we’d probably meet at a local café. Mainly because I’ve been cooped up for too long this week and need to get some fresh air on the walk to see you.
It’s currently -9°C outside (that’s around 15°F), so my walk would probably be short and crisp, and my drink large, caffeinated and warm.
If we were having coffee today, the first thing you’d notice about me would be my hair and that it’s (finally) bright red again. Sitting down, we’d order our hot beverages – mine would be a very large Chai Presso – and then we’d chat about our week. I really hope yours was all right, mine was ok but busy.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I got one assignment for my Cross-Cultural Communications course handed in this week and I’m currently working on another assignment for Psychology of Communication.
I’d tell you that the issues I had with my university concerning the missing links (8/13 links to resources were no longer valid) is being resolved. They are now going through the resources and assign new ones over the next 2 weeks. That means I also got a two-week extension. I had to call them to make sure (the email was a bit confusing) but it turns out these 2 weeks won’t count towards my study time and I can still work on the assignments, they just won’t be graded for 2 weeks. I can’t tell you how relieved I am that this is finally being sorted!
I’m getting into the study groove, slowly but surely. I think I’ve finally established a rhythm that works for me.
If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you that I take a little time off studying tomorrow to watch The Imitation Game. It’s finally in movie theatres over here (though unfortunately dubbed into German) and I’ve been waiting to go and see it.
I’d tell you that I bought five books the other day, some simply based of the cover alone. They were bargains, and as a book addict, I couldn’t help myself. I’ve also been dreaming about my ideal bookstore this week and a friend (who is a bookseller) totally agrees with me. If we had the necessary money, we’d open a shop like that on the spot. I’m really tempted to switch careers.
We’d probably spend the rest of our meeting talking about books and favourite characters. Why we love them or love to hate them.
Eventually though, it’d be time for me to brave the cold again and head home to keep studying. It’ll be a long night, pouring over journals, making notes and making reading covers, and I’m hoping to get the literature review done by tomorrow night (factoring in I’ll be out for brunch which all take 2 hours, and then another 2.5 hours at the movies).
I’d get a Hot White Chocolate to go in order to keep me warm on the way home. I hope you get home safely, the roads are treacherously icy.
I’m really glad we got a chance to talk today. My weekly sanity break in which I can put my university stuff aside for a while!
Hope to see you around again. Same time, next week?
In case you need more caffeine, here are the other Weekend Coffee Sharers and Part Time Monster, who came up with the idea.
I’ll be over here, ordering pizza and baked zucchini and transforming back into Hermione Granger.

Love the hair color!
I’d say that 15 degrees calls for a quick walk indeed–I’m definitely not used to weather that chilly! It’s about

Woops! Didn’t finish my thought before hitting “post.” It’s about 60 here, and that’s just about perfect for me.

Oh, I could do with 60F weather!! I’m a summer child, I can’t cope with cold weather and snow. One more reason to move to the Outback.

I’ve heard good things about it. And Alan Turing’s story has always interested me.
This is extremely cold for where I live. 😦 Thank you for stopping by!

I don’t know what colour your hair used to be but I have to say I love that shade. I enjoy changing my hair colour and the variations change how I feel about things. Found your post through the #weekendcoffeeshare- just the first one I’ve read after discovering the link

Hello! Thanks for stopping by to have coffee! I’m technically blonde, but have been a redhead and brunette on and off for more than half my life. 🙂

The red hair suits you! It’s very warm and pleasing. I’m glad you are keeping warm on your walk while you “uncoop” yourself. I’m also pleased that the issues with your school materials is being resolved. And an extra two weeks! Yay. I’m glad you got that without having to beg for it! Have a great week and I will see you next time.

Thanks for the coffee and company – there’s nothing I enjoy more than talking about books and characters from books, and my obsession with books! The hair colour is fab – I love red. It makes me want to take a trip to the store and experiment with my colour! 🙂
