Glad you could make time for this week’s Weekend Coffee Share as initiated by the lovely Part Time Monster!

We’d meet in town today, I’ve been holed up all week and the weather today is gorgeous. It’s getting warmer again and the sky is bright blue.

If we were having coffee today, I’d have a large Chai Presso, mainly because I can’t decide whether I want coffee or tea. I’ve been up until 2.30am every night this week and lived on coffee non-stop.

MOOCs – Free Education for Everyone

What are MOOCs?

MOOCs are Massive Open Online Courses aiming to give everyone access to information and education.

For many of the courses, you don’t need any previous knowledge though an interest in and basic understanding of the subject matter is recommended.

There are many providers of MOOCs out there. Some of the better-known ones include Coursera (all interests), FutureLearn (all interests), Udacity (mainly programming/Web development), edX (all interests), Stanford Online (all interests) and many more. Class Central consolidates most courses into a list that then takes you to the providers. A lot of universities and institutes offer short courses that are often introductions to their full-time taught courses.

Setting Inspiration: Misty Mountain

“Here be dragons.”

Is this view the first an explorer in your story has of a mythical mountain kingdom he has been searching for? Could this be the Olymp, Pantheon of Gods?

What are the clouds hiding below? Maybe your world is split into above and below?

The possibilities for plot settings are endless!

This is actually Mount Roraima in southern Venezuela. The photo was taken by Uwe George.

ROW80 Update – College Central

Is it Wednesday already? All the days kind of blur into one for me at the moment, mainly because I’m always up late.

Like last night, for example. I was awake until 2am. I can never sleep properly, so I stay up and work or study, as I’d feel like I’m wasting valuable time when I don’t.

But last night, tossing and turning, I finally had an idea for my A-Z Challenge theme (well, 2 ideas, really). BUT: To find out what it is, you’ll have to wait for the Theme Reveal Blogfest on March 23! I found the Linky on The Multicoloured Diary and love the idea. Over 220 bloggers have now signed up!

Have you planned your themes yet? Are you participating in the Theme Reveal?

On Monday, I posted a To Do List for this week, and so far it’s going well. I’m handing in my assignment tonight, I’m attending the TTIP seminar later on, this is my Wednesday ROW80 Update and I’ve completed the International Development module. And who knows? If I get the assignment submitted before the seminar, I still have time for one more module tonight (they only take around 2-3 hours each).
