ROW80 Study Break

These midweek ROW80 updates always sneak up on me.

I have not written a daily short story for a week now. That annoys me a bit, as the writing is meant to be a break for me from all the studying. But all I get at the moment is five minutes to update this blog and make another cuppa before I have to sit down again to keep studying.

However, to unwind, I currently rather watch an episode or two of The X-Files. Last night I watched my favourite episode Post-Modern Prometheus which is “the black and white episode” that is based on Frankenstein and the movie Mask. And I still love it. That little slow dance Mulder and Scully share at the end is a beautiful scene between them. I remember that scene as being the first in which I thought “they might actually get together one day” and as a teenage girl I kinda swooned over the way Mulder just holds his hand out and pulls her near to dance with Scully.

Also thanks to this episode I now have Cher’s Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves stuck in my head.

Other than that, I’ve been busy studying and got my assignment handed in on Sunday. Technically, I set myself another deadline for tonight, but at this rate it’s going to be tomorrow morning. I underestimated the complexity of one of the texts I have to analyse.

As I have to do two courses at the same time, I have now set weekly Sunday deadlines for one and weekly Wednesday deadlines for the other so I don’t have to finish two papers over the weekend. I’ve also left a bit of time between my last set deadline and the day the courses officially end so that handing in a day late now and then shouldn’t matter too much.

If you stopped by here on Monday, you will already have seen my post on my Study Binder Organization which also includes free downloads I made. It’s all coming together. See the Printables Page for jpeg and PDF downloads like this:

I’m still trying to write and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to go back to a nightly story on February 1. I’ve also decided that I want to join the A-Z Challenge in April after I found a post about it by Gene’O.  It’s a daily writing challenge (except Sundays) during which we go through the letters of the alphabet and post about something corresponding with the day’s letter.

Anyway, that’s all from me. I need to get back to my paper, but first I need another coffee.

Check here how the other ROWers are doing!

See you later!
