It’s New Year’s Eve (or Silvester, as we call it) and it’s time to sit down and write that list of New Year’s Resolutions.
What do I want to achieve in 2015? What do I want to learn or get better at? Well, lots of things, really.
Here are a few:
Get at least 20 hours of studying done per week
Write up a new study schedule and stick to it in order to complete each course on my Master’s degree within 15 weeks
Write a kick-ass Master Thesis
I’ll need to start writing my thesis around April/May if everything is going according to plan. Let’s hope I can top the Upper Second I got for my Bachelor Dissertation
Graduate with a good grade (& attend the ceremony in Paris)
I’m hoping to gain an A or First Class. As I am studying by distance learning at a French university, I hope I’ll be able to attend the graduation ceremony in Paris!
Find a job
I’m a trained journalist, speak several languages and study cross-cultural communication – and yet I work as an office assistant in the finance sector…
Write a short story every day
Going beyond ROW80, my plan is to write a bit each and every day
Complete a 30 Books in 30 Days Challenge
Much like NaNoWriMo, but reading a book every day for a month. Though I plan to do this once I’ve handed in my Master Thesis
Exercise more
I need to build up my back muscles again after several herniated discs. So: more exercise, swimming etc. Hopefully I’ll also lose some weight in the process
Write an original, publishable novel during NaNoWriMo
My 2013 and 2014 NaNoWriMo projects were fanfiction. my aim for 2015 is to write an original story in order to get it published
Reduce online time-wasting
I really need to stop wasting my time on social media. Not this blog, but Pinterest and Facebook, primarily.
Eat healthy
Need to get more fruit and veg into my diet and snack on healthy things.
